Consolidating Advances in the Teaching of Mathematics

A conference in honor of Dr. Loren Pitt is scheduled for September 15, 2007 at the University of Virginia. The day will recognize Dr. Pitt's continuing contributions and dedication to Virginia's K-16 mathematics teachers as he retires from the Department of Mathematics of the College of Arts and Sciences.

The conference will reflect on advancements and chart future progress in the teaching of mathematics in Virginia. Speakers include:

Dr. Virginia Bastable, Mt. Holyoke College, Massachusetts
Dr. Steven Abbot, Middlebury College, Vermont
Dr. Raina Robeva, Sweetbriar College, Virginia

The conference will be held from 10 am - 4 pm, with a reception scheduled from 4-6 pm in Clark Hall at the University of Virginia.
