Certificate in Teacher Leadership
(Available at our Northern Virginia Center)
Our Certificate in Teacher Leadership is intended for the licensed K-12 teacher seeking a greater level of responsibility within his/her school, without having to leave teaching. Courses are offered for those classroom teachers with a master’s degree who do not seek state licensure as a school administrator.
The 15-credit certificate requires completion of five graduate-level courses. Coursework helps teachers develop the leadership skills needed to assume peer leaderships roles at the school level. Teachers learn to serve as a liaison between a school’s administrative team and the faculty. They also develop increased capacity for participating in leading school and community projects.
Courses are offered on an on-going basis. Please note that these courses cannot be transferred into the state approved Education Administration program.
