HR 409 Recruiting, Placement, Performance, Appraisal and Outplacement
Course Description: This course addresses the human resources planning and implementation functions used in recruiting, job placement, performance appraisal, and outplacement. Examine the planning, strategies and techniques that lead to successful staffing activities in good as well as poor economic conditions. Topics include staffing models appropriate for growth as well as downsizing, economic conditions that impact staffing, laws and regulations, short-term and long-term strategy and planning, metrics and measurement, internal and external recruiting, and career planning. After successful completion of HR 409, participants should be able to: -Understand the basics of recruitment planning and strategic staffing as it relates to corporate goals; -Evaluate various recruitment techniques and processes; -Understand how diversity and equal opportunity goals link to recruitment strategies; -Understand placement and position selection concepts and principles; -Describe and critique several performance appraisal techniques; -Understand the purposes of effective performance appraisals and -Appreciate the impact of transition issues (layoffs, downsizing, etc.) on the organization and the workforce.
