Employee Development (Web Course)

Course Description: This course provides an overview of human resource development (HRD) theory and practice in the organization. Adult learning theory and the concept of the learning organization will be explored. These concepts will be used to examine the roles and responsibilities of employees and organizations in the development of the workforce throughout the employment cycle. Development of effective training programs for technical skills, management and executive development, and organization acculturation will be discussed. Highlights Include: a.) Applying both a systems and performance perspective to the design and implementation of HRD interventions and programs b.) Articulating the relationship between Adult Learning theories, Organizational Learning principles, and HRD practices c.) Using conceptual skills and practical techniques to determine successful HRD approaches d.) Identifying strategies for creating and maintaining HRD programs for different audiences in different contexts
