MATH 662 AAO Elementary Algebra and Functions
Course Description: Algebra is a tool for working with data and modeling physical situations. In this course participants will examine relationships among quantities, including functions, explore ways of representing mathematical relationships, and analyze change. Topics examined will include investigations into the structure of real numbers and subsets, basic operations on real numbers, and properties of real numbers including number theory. Teachers will develop their own algebraic thinking through collaborative problem-solving situations and the integration of technology applications as well as examine how this thinking develops in students. This course is designed to cover content outlined in the VA regulations for the Algebra Add-On Endorsement.
