Euclidean Geometry

Course Description: Geometry is the study of shapes and has been used to better understand relationships and beauty in the world. In this course participants will delve into using a process approach to learning geometry focusing on its applications in solving problems. Teachers will develop their own geometric thinking through collaborative problem-solving situations as well as examine how this thinking develops in students. Understanding measurement systems, both metric and U.S. Customary, will also be addressed. Technology applications are an integral part of allowing students to visualize and make conjectures and will be used throughout the course. This course is designed to cover content outlined in the Virginia regulations for the Algebra Add-On Endorsement.

Prerequisites: MATH 662, equivalent coursework, or permission of instructor
