Organic Gardening

Course Description: An organic garden is a living system of balanced forces. The objective of this course is to give students the information and inspiration to grow their own food using organic methods. It will cover the methods and techniques that will help students grow successful, abundant gardens. Students will design a garden plot, learning about garden cycles and sustaining soil fertility, seed selection, companion planting, and pest and disease management using organic methods. The format of the course will be a mix of lecture, an occasional video, hands-on activities, guest speakers and discussion. A field trip may be scheduled for an additional class session on Saturday morning.
