Branding Through Public Relations

Course Description: An advanced level course, Branding Through Public Relations, examines the role of the Public Relations function in defining, advancing and defending the institutional brand, as well as the brand imperative as driver of effective Public Relations within the organization. Course instruction includes review of the two basic components of brand and their implications for Public Relations strategy and direction, the Public Relations role in institutionalizing the brand within the organization, and the three operational elements of brand that define Public Relations practice within the branding concept.

Prerequisites: PR experience or instructor permission
