Internal Controls and Audits

Course Description: Effective internal controls represent a key component in financial reporting and safeguarding of an organization's assets. The management and the board are charged with the responsibilities of implementing proper internal controls of their organizations. This workshop will provide an understanding of the basic framework of an effective system of internal controls. Participants will review and identify control weaknesses in their organization, perform a cost benefit analysis of internal controls, understand the audit process performed by outside CPA firms, and learn to effectively discuss audit procedures and findings.
