NCED 097W Integrating Student-Centered Learning into Course Design (Web Course)
Course Description: Thirty years of research about student-centered learning has focused primarily on the impact of this approach on individuals and societies. This seminar will focus on the merits and pitfalls of student-centered learning and prompt an open discussion about classroom power, faculty roles, and student responsibilities. How can you encourage a class to evolve into a learning community where power and responsibility are shared? Modeling student-centered learning in the classroom is an effective framework as students and faculty negotiate, interact, and thrive in a democratic learning community.
