Move from Teaching to Consulting (Web Course)

Course Description: Experienced teachers have a tremendous opportunity to become consultants to business, education, and government sectors. Skills accrued to become educational professionals hold the potential for being highly valued in the consulting world. Strategic steps are necessary for understanding how educational experiences may directly transfer to the consulting business. Consider the value of self-assessment, nine traits of a successful consultant, as well as identification of steps for moving from teaching to a consulting. Consider what would be needed to ensure a smooth transition. This seminar will provide practical advice on transitioning to a consulting career and look at risks, rewards, and factors for success. This seminar provides practical advice, anticipates common mistakes, and considers the best course of action in marketing your product, bidding the product, and delivering your product. Valuable resources are provided to assist current and prospective adjunct faculty.
