| NCFL 016 Intermediate Spanish for Healthcare Professionals Course Description: A continuation of Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, this course is directed to those students who have a command of basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary who are interested in learning more medical vocabulary and practicing the Spanish skills they already have. Health topics include: diabetes, nutrition, wellness, physical exam, pain, pregnancy, alternative health practices, communicable diseases, children, immunizations, informed consent and mental health. The last class meeting will be an exchange experience where native Spanish speakers from the community will act as fictional patients. The course is designed for both new and returning students. Prerequisites: “Spanish for Healthcare Professionals” or equivalent knowledge of basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary.
