French Conversation Workshop

Course Description: Master your French conversational skills in this intensive, small group workshop. This workshop is designed to give you a better command of present-day spoken French by focusing on language development in a Francophone cultural context. It uses current resource materials from French books, magazine, newspapers and film clips as its textbook. The class will discuss new topics each week, based on the interests of class members, touching on various grammar-related points as well as pronunciation. Additional audiovisual components will aid in sharpening listening skills. We will explore how the content of each presentation provides keys to understanding cultural paradoxes and will gain an appreciation of the social, cultural and political differences and similarities between Francophone countries and our own. This is an ideal workshop for students of French to further enhance their skills while engaging in fun and spirited discussions. Enrollment will be limited to 15 students.

Prerequisites: Intro to French Lang. I & II or equivalent.
