Fundamentals of Personal Finance

Course Description: This course provides the fundamental knowledge to make informed decisions about money and successfully manage your finances. Learn what to do—and what not to do—with your money, and why. Topics include the value of money over time, good and bad debt, the pros and cons of credit cards, financing major purchases such as homes or cars, taxes, and using the computer to manage your money. You also will receive guidance on long-term financial matters such as managing risk, protecting assets, and investing for retirement. At course end, we will assemble the topics we have discussed into a comprehensive plan for a secure financial future.
