Force and Motion

Course Description: What is the difference between force and weight? What is friction and how does it work? How do simple machines work and how do they make work easier for us? What is work and how is it measured? Teachers will learn how to determine speed, velocity, and acceleration. Simple machines will be studied and several will be made and studied. Force and Newton's laws will be examined through simple hands-on activities done in cooperative learning groups. Work and energy will be investigated. Teachers will perform many investigations and activities in concepts of force and motion. Letter grades are assigned for this class.
