Data Analytics for HR Professionals

  • Address: 7054 Haycock Road, Falls Church, Virginia 22043
  • Date: March 2, 2017
  • Time: 11AM-1:30PM

Come join us for lunch and learn how data analytics can increase the value of the HR function to organizational performance. For example, Lowe’s improved its sales growth by 4% by using analytics to discover the link between employee engagement and customer satisfaction.  With data analytics, a financial services company increased its revenue growth by $4M when it discovered that it was targeting the wrong hiring qualifications for sales reps. Attendees will get an overview and introduction to:

• UVA Data Analytics Certificate Program
• What is HR analytics? What are its benefits?
• HR analytics demonstration - Tableau
• Interactive case study discussion
• Facilitated discussion around participant skill needs/issues

Attendees will gain a greater understanding about how data analytics can be used to shape an organization’s strategic/operating decisions using existing data and tools.

The workshop will also solicit participant insights around skill needs and challenges that will enable the School of Continuing and Professional Studies to develop a functional workforce analytics course for HR practitioners.

Lunch will be served, and admission is free. Please RSVP to Mary Dunaway, director of the proposed Data Analytics Certificate Program, at mmd2n@virginia.edu.
