February 6 Panel Discusses State of Community Policing

“The State of Community Policing & the Future of Police Reform” will be held on February 6, from 10am-12noon in the Caplin Pavilion at the UVA Law School. The panel will be moderated by Tim Longo, senior program director and assistant professor of public safety, at the UVA School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

Members of the panel include:

  • Chief Bernadette DiPino, Sarasota Police Department, Former Chief of the Ocean City, Maryland Police Department.
  • Joe Brann, Founder & CEO of Joseph Brann & Associates, Former Director of the Office of Community Oriented Policing, U.S. Department of Justice.
  • Rachel Harmon, F.D.G. Ribble Professor of Law, School of Law, University of Virginia
  • Commissioner Charles Ramsey, Retired, Philadelphia Police Department & Former Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department, District of Columbia, and Co-Chair President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing
