Certificate in Project Management

Overview

Our Certificate in Project Management provides a core framework and information on how to apply a wide range of tools in order to be an effective project manager. The 24-credit graduate PM certificate (8 courses) focuses on the core competencies recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The PM certificate can be completed in 18 months by enrolling in 2 classes per term. 

Why Project Management?

Effective project management is essential to all organizations. Project management involves planning, organizing, securing, and managing the resources necessary to bring about the successful completion of identified project goals and objectives. 

According to the Project Management Institute’s 2013 Salary Survey, salaries for project managers have grown, with the global median salary reaching $88,399 (salaries will vary depending on the specific management field).

The projected job growth for Information Technology Project Managers, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, is expected to grow by 15 percent through 2022. This is higher than the average for all occupations.

Who Should Enroll?

The PM certificate is ideal for individuals who are required to manage projects but possess a limited understanding of project management as a discipline.  Courses are designed to familiarize students with the many facets of project management to enable them to transfer the knowledge acquired to project management positions in private industry, the not-for-profit sector, as well as in local, state, and federal agencies. Completion of the PM certificate demonstrates evidence of specialized educational achievement in project management.
