Receive Site Students
A student, enrolled in a UVA course delivered via distance technology, will find he/she is not alone. We have many students in our regional centers as well as those at corporate sites. The diversity is challenging and interesting and we want each student to know we do all we can to support his/her learning experience.
Video conferencing is unique because you actually attend a live class at a distance - listening to the lecture, taking part in the discussion and asking questions. Live interaction requires your becoming familiar with the technology involved. There is a site coordinator to help students become familiar with the equipment used at their site. This person also supplies trouble line phone numbers to call if there is a problem during a broadcast. If a course cannot be delivered to your site (due to weather or technical difficulties) a VHS tape copy will be made available.
Some classes are available on your computer via streaming video. Check with your professor to find if your class is available. Your professor will have the url.
If you have problems with the streaming video please send a message to: dvideo@virginia.edu
