Public Safety

Master of Public Safety

The Master of Public Safety (MPS) answers the call for public safety education that develops leadership skills and contextualizes law enforcement in the broader landscape of society and social change. The part-time, interdisciplinary program prepares public safety professionals by broadening their understanding of relational policing, emerging public safety threats, and appropriate responses to improve the safety of their communities. Six key themes are woven throughout the graduate curriculum: constitutional literacy, relational policing, evidence-based strategies, diversity awareness and sensitivity, public health, and safety and wellness. Classes are offered on-Grounds in a low residency format that also combines online instruction.
