April 1, 2018

The University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) is partnering with the National Contracts Management Association (NCMA) to sponsor a day-and-a-half workshop.  “Managing Risk in Federal Acquisitions” is scheduled for May 31-June 1 at the Darden School of Business, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Intended for contracts and project management professionals, the workshop provides essential training on a critical contract management skill – effectively managing acquisition risk. Presenters include NCMA’s top instructor, Michelle Currier, professor of contract management at Defense Acquisition University (DAU); John Michael Caram, professor of systems engineering at DAU; and Dana Popeescu, associate professor of business administration at UVA’s Darden School of Business.

This learning and networking event will guide individuals through a consideration of contract-related risks and provide them with the skills to identify, mitigate, and monitor risk. Participants will immediately apply what they learn to everyday work.

Participants will earn 10 CPEs/CLPs. Registration is now open through the NCMA
