Degree ProgramsThe University’s goal is to meet 100% of a student’s demonstrated need through a combination of grants and federal need-based loans. Financial aid is available for the School's degree students (on a case-by-case and semester-by-semester basis) as degree candidates at the University for courses taken at the University of Virginia. Course work outside of the University, even as required to be eligible for the UVA degree, cannot be supported by UVA financial aid, nor can students receive financial aid simultaneously from two institutions, even if course work from both institutions relates to the same degree.
To be considered for need-based financial aid, new and returning degree students must submit specific documents to UVA Student Financial Services. Please see details below and at UVA Student Financial Services.
New applicants to the School's degree programs should file the following:
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (The University of Virginia FAFSA code is 003745.)
- CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE (There is a $25 charge associated with the PROFILE: $9 to complete the PROFILE and $16 to have the PROFILE sent to UVA.)
Returning degree students should file the following:
