Charlie Yuan PhD, CPA, EA

Dr. Charlie Yuan entered the higher education world to explore his passion for teaching and conducting research in accounting and taxation in 2005. He has been a seasoned accounting faculty with both public and private universities, where he saw firsthand how knowledge and education could impact people's lives since then. He has been teaching the last seventeen years with the last fourteen years teaching full time. Like many of others, Dr. Yuan is a life-long learner and am passionate for affecting change through learning. He has earned an associate degree, bachelor's degree, two master's degrees (MBA and Master of Science of Accountancy), and a doctorate (PhD). He also holds the following certifications but not limited to: Illinois Registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA); IRS Enrolled Agent (EA), Association of College and University Educators Advanced Credential in Effective College Instruction; Quality Matters Certified Online Course Reviewer; Udacity Predictive Analytics for Business Nanodegree; Google IT Automation Certificate

Prior to his academic appointment, Dr. Charlie Yuan worked in the revenue department as a tax specialist for eight years, which enables him to bring real-world experiences to the classroom. In his role as an innovative scholar, he is active in both delivering accounting and tax courses online and presenting his research in accounting and taxation at the national and international accounting conferences, such as the annual meeting of American Accounting association since 2005.
