Giving Opportunities

The University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies serves adult learners by providing access to educational experiences that blend academic scholarship with workplace relevance.

Your gift helps the School fulfill its public mission and provides resources that support the School’s efforts to expand academic programs, recruit and retain highly credentialed faculty, enhance student services, and provide scholarship opportunities for adult students.  Every gift, regardless of amount, makes a difference.

Please make an online gift to any of the following funds:

School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) General Gifts
Donations to the general gift fund allow the SCPS Dean to allocate unrestricted gifts to support the School’s highest strategic priorities and operational needs.  Donors contributing to this fund can also specify how their gifts should be used at SCPS by adding special instructions in the online gift form.

Bachelor of Interdisciplinary (BIS) Studies Program Gifts
This gift fund provides financial support that goes directly to the BIS degree completion program. Gifts to this fund allow SCPS to expand and enhance the BIS program, enrich the student experience, strengthen and support the BIS alumni community, and create merit and need-based scholarship opportunities that increase access for adult students. Donors contributing to this fund can also specify how their gifts should be used to support the BIS program by adding special instructions in the online gift form.  This fund is overseen by the Director of the BIS program.

SCPS Dean’s Scholarship Fund
This fund supports a scholarship program for incoming Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) and Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Sciences Management (BPHM) students. The program recognizes students who demonstrate potential for success in the program and awards one-time merit scholarships to qualified students to help pay for tuition and other costs of attendance during the student’s first semester in the BIS program.

Lexipol Public Safety Fellowship
The Lexipol Public Safety Fellowship was endowed by a generous gift from Renee and Gordon Graham. The fund is used to award fellowships to students enrolled in the Master of Public Safety program at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. The awards are based primarily on academic merit, leadership, previous work history, and outstanding citizenship.
