Annual Course Schedule - Cybersecurity Management


The certificate can be completed in 12 months by enrolling in 2 courses per semester term. Each Fall and Spring semester term is divided into two 8-week sessions (A & B). Classes are typically scheduled as follows. Please note that SCPS may cancel, modify, or make substitutions as deemed necessary in any given semester, which may affect the length of time to complete the certificate.  

Fall Term A
BUS 5010 Cybersecurity Management (required)
BUS 5040 Creating & Conducting a Security Audit (required)

Fall Term B
BUS 5100 Cyber Law, Regulation & Ethics (required)

Spring Term A
BUS 5010 Cybersecurity Management (required)
BUS 5060 Understanding Technology in an Open Access Environment (elective - offered every other year in odd years)
BUS 6000 Applied Wireless Network Security (elective - offered every other year in even years)

Spring Term B
BUS 5020 Security Policy Development & Assessment (required)

Summer Term
BUS 5030 Designing Dynamic Security Architecture (elective)

Angela came to SCPS after over 20 years in the IT and computer science industries, starting her career as a database programmer and working her way up to a job as a fellow and chief scientist leading cybersecurity initiatives at Booz Allen Hamilton. She is the director of the certificate programs in Cybersecurity Management and Information Technology, and developed and launched the Certificate in Cybersecurity Analysis program in 2018.
