For Brittany Toth, who has wanted to be a Cavalier since she was little, the opportunity to pursue her passions at UVA has been a dream come true. And with support from scholarship, she has been able to focus on her education journey and flourish.

BIS alumna, Marion Dobbins, credits her school experience with giving her the confidence she needed to pursue her dreams. Today, Dobbins is working toward her Ph.D. and has a book release planned.

Living their dream of being a writer, SCPS Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies student, Dan Rice, is publishing a second book. Inspired by the colloquial phrase, “I know it like the back of my hand,” Rice’s creative memoir, “The Back of My Hand,” is an exploration into identity and how well we really know ourselves. While blurring the lines between poetry, prose, and poetic prose, the text weaves together mental health, coming out and spirituality.
