Alex Valmarana
Alexandra Valmarana has over 25 years of international experience in sustainable conservation and design. As a Senior Partner at Peregrine Bryant Architects in London, she led award-winning projects across Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean from the 13th to the 21st centuries.
Valmarana's work includes new design, adaptive reuse, and specialized conservation across multiple sectors including residential, industrial, museum, healthcare, and education. She has designed and led award winning projects for UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Crown Estate, the National Trust, the Landmark Trust and private clients. Projects include the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the Travellers Club, Belmont House, the Royal Astronomical Society at Burlington House, and St Helen and St. Katharine School among other private Grade 1 listed sites.
With a strong focus on material science, heritage impact, and sustainability, Valmarana integrates innovation and technology into historic environments, ensuring sustainable use without compromising architectural integrity. She also contributes to the field through international lectures, publications, documentaries, and her position on several global architecture, educational and social enterprise boards.
