About the Proposed Program
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) has proposed a new 100% online Master of Change Management degree designed for working professionals who aspire to enhance their ability to guide, implement, and sustain change in complex organizational environments.
The Master of Change Management degree program is currently under review and not yet approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). Pending approval, we hope to launch a fall 2026 cohort.
What This Means for Current SCPS Students
If approved, the Master of Change Management degree would allow students who have completed a graduate certificate at UVA's School of Continuing and Professional Studies within the past five years to stack up to 12 credits (four courses) toward the degree.
This means:
- Your certificate coursework could satisfy all elective requirements for the master’s degree
- You would need only six additional courses (18 credits) to complete the master’s degree
