Amanda Lloyd
Amanda Lloyd earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Management from Hampton University, her M.A. in Humanities from Old Dominion University, and her B.A. in Communication Studies and History from Longwood University. Her teaching and leadership interests center on higher education access, prison education, workforce development, and nonprofit leadership. Before joining UVA, Amanda served as Associate Vice President of Instruction at Rappahannock Community College, spent 15 years at Tidewater Community College in both faculty and leadership roles, and worked for a decade with the City of Norfolk as a Training and Organizational Development Analyst. She is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®), Situational Leadership® II, and Everything DiSC® Workplace. An active civic leader, Amanda has served on numerous local and state boards and commissions, including the Virginia Historical Records Advisory Board, the Norfolk Planning Commission, and the Norfolk Public Library Board of Trustees. She has been recognized with multiple awards, including Hampton Roads Top 40 Under 40, Women in Business Achievement, and Millennial on the Move.
