Derek Perry

Derek Perry serves as Assistant Director for the City of Newport News’ Department of Development. In this role, he manages special projects for the City and Newport News Economic Development Authority as well as strategic redevelopment efforts Citywide. His experience includes project and construction management, grant writing, development of business incentive programs and deal structuring.

Derek is a graduate of Virginia Tech, and he holds Master’s degrees in Urban and Regional Planning and Public Administration.
