Kevin Lucey

As Director of Instructional Design at SCPS, Kevin leads efforts in accessibility, faculty development, and course design, all aimed at strengthening teaching quality and the student learning experience. During his time at SCPS, he has played a key role in initiatives such as developing the Teaching in a World with Generative AI course for faculty, leading the school’s transition to Canvas, building a course-sharing partnership with UVA Wise, and designing innovative online programs. Prior to joining UVA, Kevin worked in both the K-12 and community college sectors, as well as outside of academia in workplace training and development.

Kevin holds an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology and Leadership from Duquesne University where his dissertation research focused on motivation and persistence in adult online learners. He also holds a M.M. in Music Technology – Digital Music Pedagogy from Duquesne, and a B.S. in Music Education from Penn State.
