Marie Wallace

Associate Professor, Interdisciplinary Studies

Marie Wallace is an applied anthropologist and social worker whose research interests include global mental health, social service delivery, aging, technology & social change, and technology as adjunctive support for trauma-related issues. Her most recent research focuses on aging clients, ecotherapy and sense of place; and she presented this work at the 2025 NASW Rural Social Work Caucus and the Social Change and Aging Conference in Sweden. She has presented at IUAES Congresses across four continents and at the European Association of Social Anthropologists at Queen's University Belfast. Wallace holds a Ph.D. in Applied Anthropology from American University, master's degrees in Anthropology, Social Work, and Educational Technology, and a certificate in AI in Mental Health from New York University.
