Sara McGuffin

Sara McGuffin is the Town Manager for the Town of Amherst, VA, and has been in the role for the last eight years. She came up through the world of planning after serving as Planning Director for Cumberland County as well as in various roles in Chesterfield County. She has previously been an elected official, a small businesswoman, and a stay at home, homeschooling mom. In her spare time, Sara enjoys collecting new battle scars while attempting to mountain bike, kayak and off-road motorcycle ride with her husband and their combined adult children. Sara is a stroke survivor who is mostly blind, but she refuses to see her disability as a limitation. Instead, Sara views it as just another obstacle to overcome.
