David "Seth" Horton
Dr. D. Seth Horton was born on the U.S.-México border, and much of his creative and critical work focuses on the greater Southwest. He’s published close to 100 academic essays, stories, poems and reviews; in 2024, TCU Press published his collection of stories set throughout borderlands entitled On a NASA Flight to Heaven. He founded the anthology series, New Stories from the Southwest (University of Ohio Press and University of New Mexico Press), and he was also co-editor of three volumes of Best of the West: New Stories from the Wide Side of the Missouri (University of Texas Press). He currently serves on the editorial board of the Southwestern American Literature journal. New projects include a novel about the border and ongoing research into African American literature of the U.S.-México borderlands. A recipient of the Adele F. Robertson Award for Excellence in Teaching, Seth teaches courses in literature, creative writing and academic writing.
