Mendoza McCall, Powers Receive 2025 Adelle F. Robertson Award

Christie Mendoza McCall, MFA and Dr. Robert Powers, MD, MPH have been honored with the 2025 Adelle F. Robertson Award, a distinction recognizing faculty members who have demonstrated sustained excellence in providing new knowledge, instruction or public service to the people, organizations and institutions served by the University.

Celebrating Our 2025 Graduates

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, graduates from UVA’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies walked the historic Lawn under a beautiful blue sky with nearly 4,000 of UVA’s newest grads. After the procession, the school awarded 82 bachelor’s degrees – the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Sciences Management - to adult learners who all traveled unique educational paths to reach such a culmination.

School of Continuing and Professional Studies Receives Ascendium Grant

UVA SCPS received an award of a $350,700 grant from Ascendium Education Group, a non-profit committed to helping learners from low-income backgrounds achieve their academic and career goals. This grant is a critical first step in positioning the school to become Virginia’s first public university that provides incarcerated individuals with the ability to complete a bachelor’s degree.
